Have a look at the photos below. It is very easy, albeit time consuming. You can be as creative and elaborate as you like and make the designs and colours fit your own style. First I used plain brown kraft paper to wrap all the presents, then I drew a design on using a black permanent marker and then I coloured it all in using these absolutely amazing and favourite markers from Pebeo. These are actually fabric markers intended for silk, but I find them a dream to use on paper. Pebeo have loads of fantastic products. I also use their porcelain paint and porcelain markers for all my Easter Eggs and Christmas hanging decorations.

Check out the blog for pics of how I decorated the wrapping…

Each year I make up a new advent calender for my daughter and son. They love them… possibly it’s the idea of eating a chocolate every day for two weeks that appeals. This year I was very late so I bought a whole lot of mixed choccys and made these little hanging bags filled with goodies. Nothing fancy just chocolate coins and other delicious treats. The tree is filled with them and looks gorgeous. You can make these easily.. (hmm maybe for next year) by stapling the sides together and adding a little ribbon at the top. Hanging sweets on the Christmas tree is also a Polish tradition.

A wonderful exhibition is opening on Friday 4th November in Philadelphia US. It is a collection of 25 women textile artists and designers called “By The Yard” and it is being shown at Part Time Studios in Philadelphia www.parttimestudios.com I posted my submission a couple of weeks ago and am very excited to be taking part. Below are some photos of my beautiful table cloth. I used a hemp/silk blend which I dyed yellow. The white printed designs on it were cut out of paper and silk screen printed onto the fabric. And then i finished it off with some red and yellow embroidery. I was happy with the result at the end however if I had more time I would have continued to embroider… of course! But i had to stop at some stage. I have a copy of it at home without any embroidery on it so i’ve decided to do another one slowly with lots more.
